Gaucho Charlotte Street

Newly opened with a complete overhaul in design, look and feel, Gaucho, Charlotte Streets' sleek new redesign is inspired by the wild landscape that the Argentine 'Gaucho' inhabits. Situated in London's Fitzrovia the moody subterranean dining space features a dramatic winding staircase leading diners down to the main restaurant, which also plays host to a 21-cover private dining room and a beautiful cocktail bar.

Taking its cues from Argentina’s vast, wondrous landscape of rolling grasslands, dramatic snow-capped peaks, rust-hued deserts and high-altitude vineyards, a warm base palette of ochre, grassy tones and deep inky-blue hues are layered with an exuberant mix of tactile textures and subtle notes that nod to the brand’s heritage. The luxe interiors feature low-key rich velvets, gloss metal cladding, soft suede, and supple leather upholstery - revealed through cosy banquettes and bespoke furnishings - and wool-rich woven axminster carpets by Brintons. The outcome is a sophisticated dining venue that exudes relaxed, effortless glamour.

As with the majority of F&B refurbishment projects, the project team was required to work to tight deadlines, with no option of over-run, to deliver a complete high quality refurbishment on time with minimal disruption to the restaurant's business. For this reason, Brintons QuickWeave™collection of high quality axminster woven carpets was selected, this option can be delivered in only six weeks.

The chosen design, a contemporary slant on an art-deco inspired geometric pattern was selected and recoloured using the newest colour palette in the QuickWeave™ series - Odyssey, combining subtle ambient tones of graphite and tin with a touch of decadent putty and slate.

QuickWeave™ broadloom woven axminster carpet is made using the ‘Brintons blend’ of 80% wool / 20% nylon and is available in four quality specifications from 7 to 10 rows, making it suitable for all types of area from light to heavy use. Regardless of specification, the wool element in Brintons’ famous blend results in a luxurious soft feel while the nylon component ensures the carpet will be hardwearing for longevity.
