Radisson Blu Glasgow

Brintons were delighted to work with the Radisson Blu Glasgow team on their 4* Glasgow city centre hotel revamp, designing and supplying custom Axminster rugs for the guest rooms and wall to wall carpet for the corridors - totalling 4000sqm.

The guest room rugs were designed to sympathetically enhance the interior scheme with neutral brown and orange tones bringing warmth and luxury into the suites, while zoning the spaces effectively. The Matzu Tree wallpaper from local designers (and Brintons collaborators!) Timorous Beasties used “freestyle swirls and smudges in the background to symbolise the wind blowing through Scotland’s lush forests”. You can see how the circular shapes and texture within these rugs help to tie the overall room concepts together.

The dramatic but freeflowing corridor design uses blue grey tones across a large-scale wave-like pattern. The subtle textured details added to this carpet creates a rugged beauty that works two-fold; practical for high-traffic areas but also eye catching and adding drama.

During the design conceptualisation process Brintons in-house designers worked with the Radisson Blu Glasgow project team to refine colour selections and design print outs, producing woven samples for colour and design approvals prior to the final woven carpet production.
