The Grand Hotel
The Grand Hotel is a Grade II* listed five star landmark hotel in Birmingham city centre. It reopened in 2021 after being closed for almost 20 years. Brintons was pleased to work with the team to create custom carpet designs for key areas such as the iconic staircase, the Madeleine bar, the ballroom, guest rooms, meeting rooms and the penthouse suite.
I worked very closely with the team at Robert Angell Design International to create the carpet designs for each area of the hotel, RADI are always a joy to work with and have a very clear idea of design direction. Inspiration was taken from a variety of sources dependent on the space, each being approached individually but with a holistic overview.

The Grand Hotel's blend of rich history, modern style and luxury has already attracted the likes of A-list celebrities such as Johnny Depp, Ed Sheeran and Tom Cruise to it's gorgeous penthouse suite. Set out over two floors, we were pleased to design and supply custom inset rugs for the living, bedroom, dining and entertaining areas of the suite.
The iconic staircase is one of my favourite areas of the hotel, this pattern was produced from a little sketch which the designer had drawn, I scanned it into Photoshop and layered it up with some textures before we selected the vivid green tones together.
